Get ready for an adrenaline-pumping overnight fishing adventure off the stunning Emerald Coast! This Fort Walton Beach charter takes you deep into the Gulf for a full day (and night) of non-stop action. We're talking serious fishing here, folks - the kind where you might need to ice those reeling arms afterward. Our seasoned captains know exactly where the big ones are biting, whether we're trolling for pelagics or dropping lines for bottom dwellers. With room for up to 6 anglers, it's the perfect trip for you and your buddies to test your skills against some of the Gulf's most prized catches. No need to pack a lunch (or midnight snack) - just bring your A-game and be prepared for an unforgettable 24 hours on the water.
Once we clear the pass, it's go time. We'll cruise out to the offshore grounds where the real magic happens after dark. Expect a mix of trolling and deep drop fishing as we target a smorgasbord of species. You might be battling a hard-fighting snapper one minute, then wrestling a hefty grouper the next. The night brings its own excitement - there's nothing quite like feeling that rod bend under the starry sky. Our expert crew will be right there with you, offering tips and making sure you're on fish all night long. Fair warning: between the constant action and the rush of reeling in one monster after another, you might not get much shut-eye. But trust me, you won't mind one bit.
Let's talk tactics. We'll be employing a mix of techniques to maximize our chances of a cooler-busting haul. Trolling is the name of the game for pelagic species - we'll drag lines behind the boat, mimicking baitfish to entice strikes from sailfish, mahi-mahi, and more. When we're targeting bottom dwellers, it's all about the deep drop. We'll use electric reels to get our bait down to where the big boys hang out - we're talking depths of 600 feet or more. It's a different ballgame down there, and the fight to bring up a big grouper or tilefish from those depths is something you've got to experience. Don't worry if you're new to these methods - our crew will walk you through everything you need to know.
"Our vacation in Destin FL, begins with wind, fog and rain. Part of our groups adventure is to HOOK up with a GREAT tag team of captains that were experts locating fish and keeping us on spot. The rough seas were one challenge and removing the catch from 4 rods constanty reeling in fish was another. But the EXPERIENCE of both Capt. Jon and Capt. Jerrad ends with a cooler FULL of FISH, recipes to prepare our catch, a list of must sees and dos, along with great MEMORIES. Highly Recommend!!" - Michael
While we're out there gunning for a variety of species, let's spotlight our headliner: the Atlantic Sailfish. These acrobatic beauties are the sprinters of the sea, capable of reaching speeds up to 68 mph. Known for their distinctive sail-like dorsal fin, these guys put on a show when hooked, often leaping and tail-walking across the surface. Sailfish are most active in our waters from late fall through early spring, making this overnight trip prime time for tangling with one of these bucket-list fish. The average size around here is about 6-7 feet long, weighing in at 80-100 pounds. When that reel starts screaming and you see a sailfish greyhounding across the waves, it's a moment you'll never forget.
But let's not forget about the other stars of the show. Red snapper are always a crowd-pleaser, with their vibrant color and delicious fillets. These guys love structure, so we'll be dropping lines near reefs and wrecks. Grouper are another heavyweight contender - gag grouper, in particular, are known for their powerful first run, often trying to break you off in the rocks. And for those who like a real challenge, we might even get into some yellowfin tuna if conditions are right. These torpedoes will test your stamina, often resulting in battles lasting an hour or more.
There's something special about fishing these waters that keeps folks coming back year after year. Maybe it's the thrill of never knowing what's going to hit your line next. Or perhaps it's the camaraderie that develops over a long night of fishing, swapping stories and cheering each other on as everyone battles their personal best. Our captains have been running these waters for decades, and they've got the kind of local knowledge you can't find in any guidebook. They know which spots are hot, what techniques are working, and how to put you on fish consistently.
But it's not just about the fishing. There's a certain magic to being out on the Gulf at night. The stars seem brighter, the air feels fresher, and there's a sense of adventure that you just can't get with a day trip. And let's not forget the bragging rights - there's nothing quite like coming back to the dock with a cooler full of fish and stories to last a lifetime.

Atlantic sailfish are some of the most exciting game fish you can target here. These speedsters grow up to 7-8 feet long but stay lean and fast, typically weighing 50-80 pounds. You'll find them in the warmer offshore waters, often near the surface down to about 60 feet. Late fall through winter is prime sailfish season off Fort Walton. They put on an incredible aerial show when hooked, leaping and thrashing to throw the hook. Be ready for a long, tiring fight - these fish have serious stamina. Most anglers are after sailfish for the thrill of the catch, not the meat. We usually release them after a few photos. If you want to land one, here's a local tip: when you see the fish's bill break the surface, ease off on the drag. Let it run a bit before tightening back up. That often prevents them from throwing the hook on those wild jumps.
